Terms And Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before submitting your application for a program at Northeastern University.

1. Rules and regulations

Global Pathways students are subject to the rules and regulations governing Northeastern University.

2. Arrivals and departures

All Kaplan provided accommodations are booked from the Saturday before intake. Students are required to be present on the first day of the arrival program.

3. Vacations and absences

If you are absent during the program, no refund will be made for the time missed. Periods of absence cannot be made up with a free extension of the course. You must fill out withdrawal paper work and notify your advisor of your plans to leave the program.

4. Public holidays

Classes are normally not held and most school facilities are closed on national holidays. Compensation will not be made for classes not offered at Northeastern University on holidays.

5. Prices

Global Pathways has the right to change prices due to tax increases, governmental actions or other events beyond Global Pathways control.

6. Books And learning materials

All books and learning materials need to be purchased by the students upon arrival at Northeastern University.

7. Admission

Once you have received your acceptance to a pathway program, you will not be eligible to apply for direct entry to the University for the same entry semester. You will be required to complete your pathway program in order to begin at Northeastern University.

8. Expulsion/suspension

Any student who commits a criminal offense, violates the student conduct code, has a very poor attendance record, does not pass their pathways program or fails to pay an amount he or she is directly or indirectly liable to pay in order to undertake the course, may be expelled or suspended. No refund will be given and immigration authorities will be informed.

9. Refund policy

No refunds on deposit payment will be made for any reasons apart from visa refusal.

10. Accommodation refund policy

Full refunds are only available before the Housing Deadline (4 weeks before the check in date) OR for visa denials. After the Housing Deadline, there is a 50% refunds available for semester long bookings. No refund is available after move-in.

11. Cancellation policy

Refund policy varies depending on program of enrollment. Refunds are available in accordance with the following:

  1. CPS Direct
    CPS will permit students to withdraw from 12-week, 8-week, and 6-week courses within 14 days from the start of the term and receive a 100% refund. After the 14th day of the term, any student seeking to withdraw from a 12-week, 8-week, or 6-week course will be ineligible for a refund.
  2. DMSB Direct
    Weeks 1 through 3 – 100% refund (end of week 3 corresponds with the last day to withdraw without a “W” grade)
    Week 4 – 60% refund
    Week 5 – 40% refund
    After Week 5 – no refund
  3. American Classroom
    Weeks 1 through 3 – 100% refund (end of week 3 corresponds with the last day to withdraw without a “W” grade)
    Week 4 – 60% refund
    Week 5 – 40% refund
    After Week 5 – no refund
  4. Global Pathways
    In cases where cancellations are made in writing more than 30 days before the start date of the semester, 100% of the unused tuition will be refunded (minus any non-refundable tuition deposit ($3000) and other non-refundable fees, (examples include off-campus housing or airport transfers).
    For cancellations made less than 30 days before the start date or after classes begin, there will be no refund for that semester.
    For cancellations due to visa denial, 100% of the tuition and accommodation fees and any paid deposit will be refunded. Written notification of visa rejection and receipt of relevant supporting documentation is required.
  5. Global Classroom Bachelor Completion
    Follows CPS Refund Policy, with the following modification: Student pays a $3000 non-refundable deposit that is applied to the student’s last term of enrolment. Should a student withdraw from the program, 100% of the future terms’ tuition will be refunded, less the $3000 non-refundable deposit, which will be kept by Kaplan.
