The graduate Global Pathways program is your pathway to a Master’s degree from a top ranked private US academic institution located in Boston, Northeastern University.
The Global Pathways program provides international students preparation for a Master’s degree program at Northeastern University by combining intensive college level English instruction with academic coursework related to your major. The graduate Pathways program also offers access to test preparation in TOEFL and GRE / GMAT to assist you in reaching the progression requirements for a Masters degree at Northeastern University.
Graduate Global Pathways at Northeastern University
- 1-2 semester term Pathways program (or 4 or 8 month Pathways program)
- Choose from 3 tracks in either Business & Social Sciences, Engineering Mathematics & Computer Science, or Physical & Life Sciences depending on your major
- TOEFL Test prep* for Masters programs that require a TOEFL score for progression
- GRE / GMAT Test prep* for Masters programs that require a GRE / GMAT score for progression
- Progression to a Master’s degree at Northeastern University
* TOEFL and GRE / GMAT test prep are only offerred to students pursuing Masters programs that require this for progression. Some Masters programs do not require additional TOEFL or GRE / GMAT scores for progression, so test prep will not be necessary and is not included in the Pathways curriculum.

Entry Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements to qualify for this program:
NOTE: These are minimum entry requirements only. Satisfying these requirements does not guarantee admission into the Global Pathways program.
• Minimum Academic level of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Minimum Grade level (GPA) of 2.5 to 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 in cumulative undergraduate coursework. GPA level varies depending on the major you apply to enter study.
• Minimum English level score of TOEFL 500-540 PBT / 61-74 iBT / IELTS 6.0 (no bands below 5.5). Kaplan iBT test score may be accepted for select majors .
• Minimum 2 years full time work experience required for majors in the College of Business Administration: MBA, Finance, International Business, and Technological Entrepreneurship.
English Entry Levels - Graduate Global Pathways:
Exit Requirements to progress to Northeastern’s degree program:
- Minimum Grade level (GPA) of 3.0 out of 4.0 scale in cumulative Pathways coursework. GPA level varies depending on the major you apply to enter study.
- Minimum English level score requirement (see brochure)
- Minimum GRE / GMAT score requirement (see brochure)
- Progression to Masters program at Northeastern University starting in Fall and Spring term.

How to Apply?
To apply to Northeastern University through Global Pathways is simple and easy!
Please just submit the following required documents to our Northeastern University Global Pathways office:
- Global Pathways Application Form
- TOEFL, IELTS or Kaplan iBT score
- Transcripts and Grades: Original transcripts and supporting grade scale
- English Translation of Transcripts: Notarized translation of the transcripts
- Personal Statement: Must include name of the university, department or college, and title of the major that you are planning to pursue

- Reference Letters: 2 to 3 letters from academic instructors or professors
- CV / Resume: List work/school history, travel, languages, awards, certificates, volunteer work, and accomplishments
- Passport Copy
- Declaration & Certification of Finances Form
- Bank statement copy: recent statement of no less than the minimum funds required in the Declaration & Certification of Finances Form
If you currently have a US visa, please include copies of the visa page in your passport, I-94 card, and I-20 form.
